Welcome to the Competence Center for Information Security of the University of Applied Sciences of Mannheim!
The competence center is a cross-faculty institution and bundles the competences in IT and information security throughout the university, including the topics:
- Information Security Management Systems (ISMS)
- technical IT security
- Secure software engineering
- Secure web applications and networks
- Embedded Security
The KIS regularly organizes events in order to connect (internal and external) interested parties. In addition to the transfer of knowledge, the goal in the medium term is to realize projects with which medium-sized companies in the region can be helped in terms of IT security.
Topics of interest currently include:
- Blockchain and Smart Contracts
- Security in the Internet of Things
- Security of Industry 4.0
- Machine learning in IT security
A brief overview of the goals of KIS:
- Increasing the transparency of existing IT and information security competencies at the University of Applied Sciences Mannheim
- Orchestration of existing and development of new, coordinated university-wide courses in the field of IT security and IT security
- Developing and accompanying partnerships with companies to initiate and implement research and transfer projects
